Recent Updates

Hello friends, colleagues, family and fans, to the web home of drummer/pianist/composer STEPHEN GORDON!  It has been my sincere joy to serve the music for over two decades now in the professional arenas, and to bring as much music aas I possibly can to listeners all over the world - rather it be through the incredible relationships that I have and have made throughout the years of some of my (and yours) favorite musicians and human beings of all time, playing in their bands and bringing their visions to life in numerous configurations - or even more so now, the opportunities that I have and that are made for me to bring my own groups to venues all over the world to play my own compositions with some of the greatest musicians I know!

2026…  I'm looking forward to this year being one of refocusing, rededication and serving an even deeper music.  Maybe it's a clearer path to the music, maybe it's a realigned path and understanding of a direction or even a few…. I have a closer connection with some of the music that I have been writing of my own, and a clearer understanding of the music that I get to play from time to time with friends, colleagues and mentors - music that I hold near and dear.  I believe that also, there is a deepening of understanding of the music that has been and is abundantly giving of density….  Saying all of this to say, I look forward to being able to share so much more music with all of you, and I wish for us all that 2026 is a great year, full of clarity, purpose and realignment!

I am looking forward to some new music and projects at hand now, and venturing into some situations that I have long wanted to develop even more!  While I always enjoy taking my own projects out on the road to some wonderful destination and putting together my own groups, I always love getting those calls to play my friends music and get into the songs they hold near and dear, and I’m grateful to have such incredible colleagues as friends and teachers, mentors and spiritual guides that write beautiful music and play at a very high level, always!

There will be far more opportunities to catch one of these great groups at a venue near you!  I'm looking to venture into many of the songbooks of the musicians I have studied all of my life and loved their music.  Sooner than later, I will be bringing forth many of my own compositions, many that I have had the pleasure to play over the years, and many new compositions that I will be presenting and composing for some pretty amazing groups I will be putting together in the coming year!
